After supporting Simply
Red & Marcia Hines on their last ever tour in Australia,
Prita re-located to Europe Nov ’11, settling in Berlin, and has
been busy touring Europe and the UK, releasing her 7th
independent CD, ‘Live in Düsseldorf’, gaining airplay on radio
stations, and reviews in the press internationally.
Prita’s unique sound is ‘Hip-So-Fo’. It combines her
love of Hip-Hop, Soul and Folk with the use of a live loop pedal
and effortlessly layers funky urban harmonies, acoustic
fingerpicking guitar and beat boxing. Prita’s songwriting is both
storytelling and Jazzy, with her big bluesy soulful voice and a
natural ear for harmony; she has been likened to KT Tunstall,
Tracy Chapman and Norah Jones. Fans say her candid approach to
song writing and performing is like ‘watching open heart
surgery’.
